Costco, my favorite store.
Who doesn't like that $1.50 hot dog combo or $4.99 giant rotisserie chicken?
My name is Chen and I was a pretty broke college student. Costco became my go-to store. Begging my friends for rides and to borrow membership card turned into my weekly to-dos. One day I asked myself why not just build a Costco delivery site for people like me?
Soon after, Mokey was born on a thundering night. ⚡


Students loved Mokey!
Mokey first launched as a grocery delivery service for students at UCLA and then UWaterloo from late 2018 to early 2020 and gained popularity among students. However, we did not reach the expected traction and sadly shut it down after.
In 2022, we are starting fresh and pivoting to weekly deliveries in select communities.🚚

What is Mokey?
Mokey is a weekly community grocery delivery startup. We started as a grocery delivery service for students at UCLA and UWaterloo from late 2018 to early 2020 and gained popularity among students. However, we did not reach the expected traction and sadly shut it down soon after.

How does Mokey work exactly?
1. Select the goodies on Mokey and orders must be placed before 1am on Thursday for the Friday delivery.
2. We text your 1-hour delivery window on Thursday.
3. We shop at Costco on Friday morning and deliver to you the same day between 2 - 6 pm. 🚚
Free delivery on orders over $60. Minimum order is $35 and there is a $4.99 delivery fee for orders under $60. For your first order, enjoy free delivery with no minimum using code FirstOrder.🎉

How do you make money?
To provide you with a great experience including individual item inspection for quality and delivery right to your door, we charge a mark up on all items, and bulky and heavy items carry a higher markup. We only make money from the markups and don't charge any hidden fees. What you see is what you pay (before taxes), and everything is priced in.
After I place an order, how do I know what time it will be coming?
We will text you a 1-hour delivery window on Thursday. You will also receive a text message when your driver is on the way to deliver your order on Friday.
If you prefer us to deliver within certain hours, please leave us a note when placing the order. 🎈
Are deliveries contactless?
All orders are available for contactless delivery, our drivers will leave the order at your house or condo door. For your best experience, please leave a bag/box outside the door for the driver to place the order in.
If you choose Payment on Delivery for your payment, please have total amount/payment app ready when your driver comes.
How would you keep food items cool/frozen?
We take the fresh(froze)ness of your order very seriously. We have special coolers/bags to keep the food cold/frozen. We have delivered thousand of packs of meat/frozen food before and had 0 returns on this matter.👍
What about the return/exchange policy?
Return/Exchange can be made on your next order/week for any reason for a full-price refund. Just reach out to heischen@mokey.co and we’ll help you place your return or exchange.
Perishable items without a clear quality issue will incur a $5 restocking fee.
Refunds are processed within 2 business days after the pickup and you will receive a refund email. Refunds may typically take 3-10 business days to be credited back to your account, depending on your bank.
How can I change my order?
Simply respond to the order confirmation email with links or titles of products to be added/removed before Friday. An order confirmation email is always sent upon placing an order, please be sure to check your spam folder.
How does the payment work?
We accept credit/debit cards and Paypal for online checkout as well as Payment on Delivery. For Payment on delivery, we take cash and digital payment apps (Venmo, Zelle, Paypal, and Cashapp).
What if I'd like to get something that is not on Mokey, but Costco has it in-store?
Just send us the product name at heischen@mokey.co and we will let you know the availability and our price. You could make a decision after that.
Do I need a membership to shop on Mokey?
No. We bought a membership, so you don't.
